Android Was Not Developed By Google:
Android operating system was developed by Android Inc. The company was founded in October 2003 by Andy Rubin, Chris White, Nick Sears and Rich Miner. But soon in 2004 the company faced a financial problems as it was backed by Google itself.
In 2005 Google bought Android Inc at a price of $50 million. Now Google has been able to capture 85% market share in smart phone technology.
Android Was Developed For Digital Cameras Only:
Android was initially developed for digital cameras only but soon Google changed his focus towards Smartphones after seen its potential in a market. Now android is known as a best smart phone technology.
HTC Dream Was The First Android:
The first android smart phone was HTC Dream which is also known as T Mobile G1. It was launched in 2008 and it used android version 1.0. HTC Dream was based on a Linux operating system and it was also upgradable up to android 1.6.
More Than Billion Users:
Android is one of those devices which have more than billion users in the world. Android is circulating around 190 countries on different devices like smartphones and tablets etc. On average every second mobile users uses android based smart phones throughout the world.

Android has a lot of versions but interesting thing is that all version names are in alphabatical order.
