Lahore, 30 March 2016 – UCWeb, Pakistan’s No. 1 mobile browser with over 35% market share (according to StatCounter), today announced its first Corporate Social Responsibility initiative for Pakistan by making a donation to Shahid Afridi Foundation for their welfare work.
SAF is working to upgrade the quality of life in rural areas of Pakistan by providing basic healthcare, imparting free education, and guiding people to make a living with confidence and grace.
Commenting on the occasion, Kenny Ye, GM of Global Markets, Alibaba Mobile Business Group, said “During this cricket season, we created a campaign, #UnitedforCricket, on UC Browser to unite all Pakistanis to support their national team, which get an overwhelming response from the users and even get support from the Pakistan T20 captain Shahid Afridi. It was our turn to show our support to him through his charity work”. He also reminded that “Captain Shahid Afridi, in addition to his cricketing skills, is also known among world’s top 20 charitable athletes of our time”.
